i didn't find a topic related to this issue. very old product anyway, not sure if anyone is interested anymore.

just few days ago I got a BV7-40 deal that i could not resist. I did preliminary beoworld forum search about its lack of viewing any HD signals. I was informed by the original owner that it is probably not HD upgraded and ownew was using Apply tv via video scaler (HDMI to scart).

I brought the BV7 to my home (along the floor stand, BL7.1) and gave it a try. first of all I connected apple TV (gen3) to DVI port with HDMI cable + DVI adapter --> I got very sharp image, my opinion better than 720p, possibly 1080i. netflix was unable to play video because tv could not handle HDCP.

1) does this confirm that it hs not HD upgraded?

Next thin I connected PS3 vith component cable to AV4. after few iterations I was able to get 1080i image out of it..! and all on demand services (viaplay, netflix HD, HBO nordic are working with 1080i resolution.

2) based on above, is it possible that it is HD upgraded?

I tried my digibox DVB via HDMI + DVI at AV4 --> no image. and DVB with component output to AV4 component port, image is showing very small at middle of screen (about 5% of screen size).

3) is there any option to get DVB visible at BV7 with 720p or 1080i resolution. some HDMI to SCART / component scaler maybe? does the signal need to be converted from digital to analog?

I've been using BV10-32 as my daily TV but desired BV7 all along. I bought this set just to see what I can get out of it. Looks like the old BV7 is going to beat the BV10 for my purposes. (even though it cannot view full hd, but leave option to update the whole screen with never one). Love the sound of BL7.1! and kids love the motorised stand!
