Hello,
I'm trying to connect to my BS5/BM5 via my PC, in the past I've previously used the BeoConnect software however this doesn't appear to work on Win10 (from the B&O site it looks like it's unsupported from Win8.1 onwards).
I can still 'see' the BM5 from within the Network shares on my PC (within Win Explorer), however when I attempt to connect it asks me for the username and password. I have these but they don't appear to now work. The one thing I've noticed is that the connection is defaulting a domain for the user name (in my case 'HP' so HP\username) - Does anyone know what the correct domain name should be for connection to the BM5 as I suspect this is what's causing the log-in to fail, even though I have the correct username & password?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

You can see the username in network info
Go to settings the look for network info.
It is somewhere down.
Then the password is the client password that you made.
If you don't like transferring music files then you can install a software so that your BM5 will have airplay.
For instruction for the Airplay using BM5, just search it here in the forums.

Hi Matt,
From memory I think the username is BM-USER which I think you already know.
Try using \BM-USER to force windows to not use the local machine domain, or (more likely) BEOMASTER5\BM-USER to force it to use the machine name of the BM5.
I haven't tried this as my BS5/BM5 is currently packed away but please let me know if this works and if not I will endeavour to investigate further.
Kind Regards,
Martin.
Hi all,
Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I've had a quick go this evening however haven't been successful, although interestingly I can now see the BeoMaster5 as 'device' on the network and am able to open and browse - The issue appears to be that it's not possible to edit or delete any files.
I'll have a closer look this weekend and feed back if I figure out how to get this working.
Thanks, Matt
I know I'm a bit late on this string, but I had a similar issue then upgrading my PC to a new one with Windows 10. After speaking with B&O customer services they advised B&O will not be supporting Windows 10 so from now on when transferring music from your PC to Beo5 hard drive, this has to be done manually "drag & drop".
I think this is terrible support from B&O for their customers and I will consider this when replacing my B&O system!
