Inspired by the recent Beolit threads I dug my other, rather tatty 707 out of storage. It works better than I recalled, but my favourite radio station is at 87.9 MHz and I just can't get the radio to tune that low.
The pointer seems to be fixed on the tuning cord at the spot where it left the factory, and it can travel the full length. Comparing other stations, it seems that the dial shows 1.5- 2 MHz less than it should, and I don't think an offset this big can be fixed by adjusting the dial cord.
Looking at the schematic, I don't see any simple adjustment for this. Is there some common fault that would cause a tuning error this wide?

A bodgers reply: Can you remove the whole top plate (three screws) along with the slider and move the whole lot to the left to see if it will tune further down beyond it's manufactured set point? Saves disconnecting the cord from the slider.
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
I'll try that unless something better turns up. I have another good 707 I could use for comparisons, but it's 125 km away. This Beolit may end up as parts anyway, as it has a number of other problems (half trashed aerial, broken slider knobs, ferrite rod holders broken, possibly the rod as well, horribly stained black side panels).
