My old BM 2000 gets hot. I measure about 60 degrees on one of the heat sinks, the others are not that hot.

I have changed the voltage from 220v to 240v because the power supply was humming a bit. Could that be the reason for the hot heat sink?

Should I worry about the high temperature and stop playing the BM. The sound is excellent with no distortion (yet!)

I would stop playing it if it was me. Which Beomaster 2000 is it? the 70's version or the 80's version. My first guess would be it is drawing too much current and the trimpots need replaced.

I have downloaded the service manual. Can you tell me where I find the trimpots that need  replaced? Part number?

Is this the trim pot that needs to be replaced?

Did you measure the idle current?

I don't know how to do that, I'm afraid. Where do I measure it and what should it be?

All described better in the servicemanual than I can do here.
If the trimmer is to be replaced, you will have to adjust the new anyways - but check it before touching anything
and see, if the diagnose is correct.

The diagnose was correct. I have measured the idle current and it was very unstable. After replacing and adjusting the trim pot the Beomaster works great again not getting the least warm. All that is left is to replace a few lamps.

Thans Ricardo and Martin for your help.
