My first post here, had to register to say thanks to all guys here, as I have been lurking for quite a while, picking up very useful hints and tricks. Smile

To my problem: I was given a nearly mint looking BM 1900-2 for free, as it was 'not working, probably expensive to fix'.  When checking it, there was sound, but only very faint, even at full volume. Same problem on tape and radio.

To make the story short: Capacitor C3 on the tone control board had failed, actually shorting the +14V power line to ground. All voltage drop was across R10, no further casualties.

As it now plays again, it is probably time to get lamp and capacitor kit for it!
