Today my one year free subscription with Deezer ended.
I decided, all ready some time ago, not to renew this subscription into a payed one.
I’m not feeling very comfortable on what I get from Deezer. It may be a nice way to discover some new music, some new artist, or the unknown… But there are many other ways possible in exploring the Internet for some new thrilling sounds.
Besides, music I’ve listened to on Deezer does’t give my hearing the quality I expect from a music file. It is ultimately all about the experience: drag the music you, it gives you goosebumps?
In comparison every ‘lossless’ album I have on my own harddisk fulfills me with a lot more open, dynamic and spacious sound on the Moment..
If Deezer changes their mind and finally accept that everyone should have the change to use their Deezer Elite, this could change my thinking.
I’m blaming a factory as B&O also not doing enough effort on the Moment’s or Essence updates. To give us after one year use, no opportunity for better streaming services as Tidal par example.
I'm very disappointed in B&O as a premium firm, as these network music players behave now and how bad they are being further developed. And don’t tell me now, B&O is a small firm with not enough funds for development, there are other small-scale firms who get their act together.
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
I understand your reasoning Chris. But I actually renewed when my free subscription ended three weeks ago.
For me its the integration with the Moment that gives me the greatest benefits. Its makes it so easy to use. When I commute to/from work I listen to Deezer Flow, and when I am served nice songs I mark them as favorites and can easily access them from the Moment in my Favorites playlist..
All my old CD:s are stored lossless on my NAS, so that is what I use when I´m really listening.
Although, I think Deezer sounds very good on my system but I would really like B&O to add a Lossless streaming service to the Moment.

Totally agree ... a lossless preferred streaming partner is just table stakes now. Ideally we'd leapfrog and move to an MQA streaming provider.
Whilst many of us have invested in a physical collection, which may well be ripped to lossless, an increasing share of B&O customers must be streaming purists, who will never appreciate the quality of the system the;ve bought due to poor source media.
There's much to criticise about TIDAL's discovery modes, but you can't deny the basic album/track playback listening experience.
A Moment + Beolab 18's + TIDAL would be the Beosound 9000 for a Millennial generation.
As I see it Chris and Hiort are using their Moment in quite different ways.
I have said it from the very beginning, that the BS Moment is mainly thought as an entertainer, a music machine, a Jukebox - something that lets you enjoy music in a very simple way/with ease and that learns your habits for listening. That is exactly, what a lot of the B&O costumers want!
This way Hiort seems to have gotten just, what he was looking for.
Quite right - the Moment can be used as a base for picking an album to listen to.
But it is a 'secondary use'!
This is also the way I listen to music (I choose and I am an album listener) and it is the reason, that I (personally) newer got warm with the BS Moment - I went for the Essence instead.
To me the BS Moment without the Deezer subscription is a cribled device. Whereas you can easily use the BS Essence without it.
What Chris - and probably most 'critical listening' users - wish for, is the support for a lossless streaming music service. You can hope for Deezer to open up their Elite subscribtions or for Tidal to allow for multiroom streaming.
Untill then BS Moment users are kind of stuck with Deezer....if the want to use the device the way it was intended.
P.S. Sound quality differences:
Again - personally - I just ditched my old WiMP/Tidal account. I prefer the user interface of Spotify and I really don't hear much difference in sound quality...both are good. Deezer is too much 'Flow' for my taste/listening habits.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
MM, you made a good comparison in your comment.
I just want to say that I really do not understand the Danish thought. They made with the BL90 again (referring also to the older BL5) a loudspeaker that is exceptional in the audio world, but no engine to feed it.
The Moment should be a premium sound device included with the best streaming possibility, but it feels to me as owning a Porche Panamera with a 3-cylinder Hyundai engine build-in. You have all the luxury around you, but it just don’t go forward.
It is possible to get Deezer Premium +.
Take out a new Three mobile contract and you get Premium + free for six months, after which as a Three customer you then get it for £9.99. Hope that works gents.

The BS Moment is based upon streaming music from the web/from an online music service and it also is an important part of the B&O multiroom system.
The only possibility for now to combine these things is to use Deezer as the provider - no other service allows for the use in a multiroom setup.
Personally (as Hiort) I don't think of the soundquality of Deezer Premium as a '3-cylinder solution. I am pretty satisfied with the quality.
On the other side, I would certainly appreciate, if one could choose Deezer Elite, when he/she wants that.
However, the reality is, that this is not possible - and this not due to B&O, but to Deezer.
It seems that they have made some kind of deal with Sonos (for using the Elite version).
Maybe - and you can hope for that - this will change in the future.
I certainly don't think of the (device) BS Moment as a Hyundai-like engine - why should I?
As for the BL90's - I don't think these were made with a BS Moment-user in mind.
They surely can be used with the BS Moment or - for that matter - with a (BSys4)-BV.
But the concept of the BL90's is to be versatile. The owner should be able to use it with numerous sources - B&O and non-B&O sources.
What is it, that you don't understand - with the Danish/Danes?

That simply isn't true. Spotify Multiroom is available on speakers from Philips, Panasonic, and Bose, as well as on the Gramofon streamer. Since other companies are offering Spotify Multiroom, it seems most likely that B&O has simply refused to pay the licensing fee.
The reason I don't own a Beosound Moment is that lack of Spotify support. And Spotify Multiroom isn't available on the Beosound Essence, so I'm considering abandoning my Essence and getting a collection of Gramofon boxes. I'm not sure what the Gramofon interface is, but it can't be any worse than the BeoMusic app.
The one AMAZING thing the Essence offers is the wireless remote. It is incredibly beautiful (Like everything B&O makes) and incredibly useful. Unfortunately for B&O, I'm very seriously investing my time (and probably some employee time) to create a device to interface the Beosound Essence remote to the Graomofon streamer system so I can have Spotify Multiroom while keeping the great B&O remote.
So disappointed that B&O isn't fixing this themselves. :(

I recently asked Deezer support and this is the answer I got:
"Deezer Elite is only available on Sonos devices due to a deal between our companies. There are no plans to make Elite service available on other devices currently, but it has been suggested to the development team so with any luck they will implement this in the near future."
The answer is vague / ambiguous, but note the "with any luck they will implement this in the near future".
Also I found a recent article (Deviate Phantom test, in Dutch) in FWD magazine where they state that "FLAC streaming with Deezer is exclusive to Sonos a couple of months more"
So with a bit of luck Deezer FLAC streaming / Elite is available within 6 months or so for the Moment.

Hi Peter,
Well let's hope that B&O jumps on it, the Moments deserves it. But as user laseralex mentioned above: it could be B&O is refusing to pay a licensing fee, actually refusing to do this for any of the other stream service brands also.
I'm almost pretty sure that Beocare would answer me on the question: Why do we not get access to a CD-quality streaming service?... Dear sir, our customers are satisfied with Deezer Premium, we have no intention for adding another service at this time.
Licenses for multiroom has nothing to do with this. As an example, the one-man firm Audirvana+ included Qobuz HiFi in his beautiful player, playable in any room. And that's what I meant with 'I don't understand the Danish thought', its so limited.

A review of this beautiful machine, also mentioned at the end is the BL90 speaker.

I am not sure if multiroom / licenses is the primary reason either.
Given the tight integration with the Moment and Deezer, I can totally see that adding other streaming services needs additional investment in software development as well as additional maintenance effort / costs. For that reason alone they might have de-prioritized adding Spotify / Tidal / Qobuz.
Adding Deezer Elite on the other hand, once available, probably does not need any additional (or very little) software development to make it work.
PeterBOBP:Given the tight integration with the Moment and Deezer,
I confirm the tight integration! When the Moment boots up, it contacts Deezer in the very early stages of the startup sequence, far before it logs into Deezer with the user's credentials

The problem I have with Deezer is that after 3 months of listening to it almost daily for about an hour I've heard every song they offer to my tastes and I'm sick of it.
I canceled my premium subscription yesterday.

That's exactly what Olive did withe the Olive One.

But I should add that some features like Deezer can currently only be accessed via Bluetooth from an iOS or Android device.... Olive made a lot of promises about native streaming from a variety of services that have yet to appear as software updates.
