Hi All,

I have a couple of beautiful Beogram Turntables but both have issues...

Beogram 1203: Had it repaired twice, for a couple of issues. First it barely worked and the first repair chap struggled to get it spinning at the right speed (he told me he machined a new bit for it but I have my doubts as it was never really perfect) and the second time it had issues with the lift/return mechanism. Turned out the cable from the arm had been replaced with one that had stiffened up over time! New cables and a few tweaks and she's good to go. That was about a year a go and a new problem has come up... It's taking ages to pick the arm up. After the first play it takes less time. Maybe the cable again? Bit worried it's finally shot though as the suspension is very baggy and its sitting a bit low in the case, an issue thats been flagged before by folks who've worked on it.

Beogram 1200: Beautiful condition except for the lift/return mechanism no longer working. Two tiny catches has fallen off the flywheel and I have no idea how to reattach.

Is there anyone on here prepare to take on these repairs? I've been told there are some very highly regarded B&O techs on here and would love to see these turntables brought back to life but I fear spare parts may be needed.

If anyone has suggestions or recommendations for someone UK based that would be very much appreciated. There is some chap on eBay offering repairs but for £200 a deck which I thought was a bit much especially as he was only charging £125 a few months back (although I have since been told thats not a bad price). I don't mind paying whatever the going rate works out to be...

Hope someone can help.

Chris.
