~12 years ago, my puppy chewed my Beocom 3 cord so it occasionally lost power and stopped working. 12 years later, my puppy is still going strong, but the occasional BeoCom 3 glitch has turned into a frequent failure (no longer acceptable). I called my local service center (and after they stopped laughing - not really, they were very polite) and they said, "we have no parts for that - it's been discontinued for too long".
Call me old fashioned, but I'm looking for a 2-line *wired* replacement with a very good speaker phone capability. However, there are none on eBay, and only one listed since December of last year.
Beocom 5 is wireless, discontinued and seems to have lots of issues... however, if someone said "no, you're mistaken, it works great now" (and could tell me how I can tell a good phone from a bad one), I might venture into the 2nd hand market and give it a try.
However, I'm also in a bit of a rush - I can use my cell phone in the interim, but I don't have great coverage in my office so it's not 100% either.
Does any one know where I can source a Beocom 3, or a replacement power/phone cord or have recommendation for a non-B&O desk phone?
I realize we haven't talked phones on this forum for a number of years, and this is a long post about what many consider obsolete technology (land line, oh my!) but maybe some will enjoy the nostalgia
