I have just purchased a pair of BL6000's off ebay powerlink cables not included.

1st What version of powerlink do I need? I wanted to order some before the item arrives so I can give them a full test.

2nd I need to 1st fix the cable into a new house which I gutted. I presume I can run them this way

1. You can use powerlink mk1 or (better) mk3.

2. As the BL6000 has a powerlink IN and OUT, you are correct setting it up this way.

Mk3 has an extra (blue)  wire for the system mass and is needed for icepower speakers. Otherwhise you risk the speakers are going to humm.

As the lab 6000 do not have icepower amplifiers, you can use both.

Hello plumber77,

You're right in setting them up in that fashion - just make sure that you set them to left and right with the switches underneath! Wink

As for the PowerLink - you need Mk1 or Mk2 - NOT Mk3 (which is only for use with ICEpowered speakers and will buzz if used with the first-generation BL6000).

Hello,

Please don't worry, you CAN use any version of Powerlink cable with early Beolab 6000 speakers, there will not be any problems.  I no longer sell mk.1 cables, as they only work on a few early Beolab speakers, whilst mk.3 cables can be used on any Beolab speakers without displays (except Beolab 5).  Here's a (hopefully!) complete list of compatible cables for each speaker model:-

Powerlink mk.1 = Beolabs 1, 2500, 4000 mk1, 6000, 8000 only

Powerlink mk.2 = All Beolab speakers except Beolab 2000 and 3500 (Penta mk.1 and Beolab 12 via adapters)

Powerlink mk.3 = All Beolab speakers except Beolab 5, 2000, 3000, 3500, 4500, 5000 and Penta (Beolab 12 via adapters)

If you need any further help or advice, please feel free to ask!

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
