Today I went to pickup a brand new looking, MX 4200, for free. The owner tried selling it for some time, but was unable to do so. Then he gave it away for free...nice!
The only problem is, that even though it has the slot for MasterLink on the back, I can't make it work. The guy said that he was sure it had MasterLink, though he never has used it.
I have read on BeoWorld that the MasterLink Module was optional, when it was sold. And I called some dealers, and was told it would cost 1600 DKK, which is about 215 euros - I don't want to pay that kind of money. It is way to expensive, when my old MX 4002 still works ok, and because I'm thinking of buying a BeoVision 6-26 as replacement, when the used prices drop a bit more.
Linksupply.dk has a used MasterLink module for 495 DKK, about 66 euros, which isn't that expensive, but I don't know if you want to pay the money for it.
Or do any of you know of a place where I can find a really really cheap MasterLink module? And do I only need the MasterLink Module? I don't need anything else for making it work as a LinkTV on my MasterLink setup?
Hi is it in the correct option setting?

I've tried it in both video option 5 and 6.
Hej Claus.
Prøv at tage bag beklædningen af tv'et, og kig om der sidder et print lige omkring der hvor MasterLink stikket sidder.
Hvis ikke der gør, så vil der være et par røde stik der er ubrugt, og du er normalt ikke i tvivl.
I may be wrong but I'm sure that if it hasn't got masterlink then the red light will only flash when you set v opt 1 and will not flash for v opt 2 or3 and so on. That is the case with my bv3 . That's how my dealer told me to check. Although this was with a bv3 and not a mx 4200. I have never used a mx4200 so I don't even know if it has a red light but I hope this helps
I may be wrong but was the 4000 a main room tv and the 4002 a link room tv. Thy were purchased for their purpose.
I just opened it up, as LasseMathiesen suggested, and the MasterLink module is missing. Now I just have to find out if I want to spend the money for it.Thanks you for your replies.

Not really - 4002 is simply a 4000 with Masterlink (and AV AUX link dropped!).
But obviously most of them ended up as link room TVs... not many people would've had a link setup and needed/wanted a 21" main room TV!
