Hello all.
I'm a new member and have no knowledge or experience of repairs etc. and would therefore be very appreciative of any expert input here!
I have a beomaster 5000, beogram 5000 and beovox s55s inherited from my Grandpa, and I love them all!
I've had them 3 years with no problems whatever, but suddenly today, the MCP is only showing 'no transmission' (I've checked with a camera and it is sending a signal), but there are no signs of life whatsoever from the amp when operation is attempted from the MCP. There is also no response at all from the buttons on the main unit (though I'm ashamed to say I've never actually tried them before.)
****** POST SCRIPT***** - My wife has just got in and, seeing me scrabbling on the lounge floor near the B & O, told me my son plugged our beomaster-to-ipod lead into the headphone jack socket on the television set yesterday while the BM5000 was plugged in but not on or on standby. When he attempted to switch on there was nothing as described above.
Will this have caused the problem? If so... what now?! If not, what else might it be? Please help.
Obviously, an easy answer would be great, but I'd be truly grateful for any informed info!
