Hi:I have the following:
1) beosound 9000 MKI
2) beocenter 2500
3) ML converter type 1612
I am going from the ML of the BS 9000 MKI to the convertor and taking the AUX DIN out to the AUX of the BC 2500. So far no sound.
Can someone help with how to pair the two units? Thanks,
Derek

I assume you have a Beo Aux link cable (7pin DIN) connected and you are living in the us (because of the 1612...).
The cable is 1-1 soldered, which means pin1 to pin 1. Pin 1 for example is left signal out, Pin 4 is right signal out. When you connect an Aux Link cable to two audiosystems, you connect output to output - can`t work. You need a cable wired Pin 1/4 to Pin 3/5 - L/R out to L/R in - ground is pin 2 on both sides. If you don`t want to solder a cable you can use 5 pin DIN to 4x rca adapter on both sides - this will be without datalink.
N.B. you can`t use two audiosystems in one ML setup. If you want to use datalink set BS9000 to A.OPT 5 (in case you have Beolabs connected to the 9000.
Hope this makes sense.

Stefan:Thanks so much for your kind response.
To be clear then, you are saying:
1) To connect the BS 9000 to the BC 2500 I just use a Beo Aux link cable that has the pins "crossed over."
2) There is NO NEED to use the ML converter because I cannot link two audio systems together. The ML converter is really intended then to connect a video source to an audio system.
Given that the BS 9000 has a ML port, does it still send data signals through the AUX connector? Would I be able control the BS 9000 from the BC 2500?Ideally I'd like to use the BS 9000 as a "CD changer."

No. Use Beolink converter -> BS2500 AUX socket. And yes crossover as described above.
See: https://www.beoworld.org/beotech/mclconn5.htm Audio/TV link socket

As said above use the 1612. You can link two audio systems, but one of them has to be in slave (link) mode (A.OPT 5), the second will be audiomaster (BS2500) in A.OPT 1.

Yes, datalink will be sent through ML - 1612 - AUX port. But I`m afraid, won`t work to control BS9000 as a CD changer controled via your BS2500.
Would be helpful, when you describe your complete setup (...where are your Beolabs connected,...BV integrated in the setup?).
BTW: taken from your other thread, your BS9000 is not working properly?
Hi,
as Derek stated in his first post his BS9000 is a MK 1. This makes it impossible to set the A.OPT 5 for the BS9000, it just doesn't support it
I have also both systems and have the same problem with both in one room.
There might be a possibility with setting the BeoSound 2500 in Option 3 or 4 which are mentioned in the service manual for Beomaster 6500. But i just don't get the sense in OPT 3 and 4 as described in the manual. Maybe stefan knows something more about those MCL settings?

Sorry, I didn't know that an MK1 90000 can't work in slave mode. My 9000 is an MK3....
Surely there is an option to use an MCL system, but in this setup with a BS9000 and a BS2500 you will need an additional MCL amp, and finally the setup won't work exactly as Derek wishes to.
Maybe it will help when Derek exactly describes the envirement and what he'd like to do with his setup.
Hi Stefan:My setup is as follows. I have a BC 2500. All I want to do is to plug the BS 9000 into the AUX port.
I do not want to plug speakers into the BS 9000. I would like to play the BS 9000 through the BC 2500.
I'm a bit confused now, what is the purpose of the ML Converter 1612? Why can't I take the AUX from the BS 9000 and plug it into the AUX in the BC 2500 with a crossover din cable?

AUX out of BS9000 might work, it is meant as an input for external audio sources, but I never tested it as an output, so I can' t recommend that solution.
maybe someone else tested BS9000 AUX as an output...?
Or you just try...
To answer your first question, ML converter will integrate non ML products like older Beovisions (MX, LX) and older Beosystems (BC2300,2500,9500,9300, BM 3500,4500,6500,7000....) with 7pln datalink sockets to ML setups including control and balanced audio wires.
