Sorry all this question must have been asked before, I have tried to find the answer and failed.

My Beosystem 5500 has seen better days and we have added another 20 years to its second life.  So I have gradually purchased the equivalent 6500 components to replace my old gear.

One of the things last on the wish list was the Beogram 5500 due to its rare use as I don't have much vinyl, now it's back on trend this might change.

The question....

Can I simply plug in the record deck or am I facing RIAA Preamp issues?

Cheers

Gary

Your BM6500 may have an integral Riaa preamp,it was an aftermarket option.Otherwise you will need an external pre-amp.If you connect the BG5500 to the BM6500,there will be very quiet sound if no preamp is installed, but ti won't do any damage to either equipment. If there is a preamp you will be treated to lovely sound from your vinyl!!!
