Last saturday I bought (hmm, my wife did)Embarrassed a pantyhose for just 1 euro. Unfortanetely it did not fit me Stick out tongue so I was thinking about a thread some time ago where Beoworld member "Elms" came to this excellent idea using a pantyhose for reclothing Beolab 6000 grills. So I did and see what the result is. Brilliant and so easy to do! Thanks Elms, great idea Yes - thumbs upBeerIdea

Leslie, you are incredibly inventive and very brave.

Did you strip the old blue cloth off ? -- how hard was that ?

Did you glue the new pantyhose cloth on ?

But most important of all ... how did you escape being hit on the head with a rolling pin ?

(even if they only cost 1 euro)

All credits to Elms, he saves me/us a lot of money and work...

Quite easy Ed, B&O is using double side tape as well!

No, double side tape, as always!

Not sure what you mean by that but if you mean how I managed to roll the panty over the grill? Ask women how they do thatBig Smile

I was wondering if rolling pin would translate Laughing

And I decided to stay well away from the question of how you got the pantyhose off.

But to aid the translation see below ... (I tried to find a suitable/similar Katzenjammer Kids cartoon for you but I had no luck)

Thank you Paul, FYI, the right one on the 2nd picture is the original B&O dark green which I took off for the pantyhose!

I always use pantyhose to get dead bugs from the hood of my car, but this is also a good use for them!

I have some experience with pantyhose, non in putting them on, but more in getting them off.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Very helpful Leslie!

I am currently looking for cheap 6000s to restore and the covers are often in bad shape.

One question: how does the metal (is it metal?) grill look "naked" without any fabric on it? Is it presentable? Can it be polished for example?

Kind regards

Carlo

Whenever one of these old threads pops up again, makes me realize how much I really miss Leslie's contributions, and his meticulous attention to detail.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
