I have several LC2s controlling lights in my lounge and my only other B&O equipment is a 4500 system and RL60 speakers.

I was reading some information re' the LC2s and there is a reference to the possibility of them being set up for timer control for security lighting purposes. The info' said that timer setting was only possible if my B&O audio system has timer functions, although why light control capability should be reliant upon an audio system I don't understand.

Anyway, not withstanding that, I have checked my 4500 manual and i cannot see any reference to timer functions, so my 'simple' question is, is it possible to program timer settings for the LC2, perhaps via my Beo4 and if so, how?

Thanks.

LIGHT timer settings must be programmed in a Beosystem with two-way function like BS6500,7000,BC9500, and later BS4500 (two way).

Seems you have an earlier version with sw 1.xxx

If you have a two way system it is possible to set timers for all connected sources like RADIO, CD, A.TAPE, TV (if connected...).

and you can also program LIGHT timers, even LINK LIGHT timers. You can use LINK LIGHT in a passive MCL linksystem with MCL 2As (extra speaker kits). All these systems have two way function, means, they receive and send Beo commands. LC2s are only able to receive LIGHT commands.

If you set up aLIGHT  timer in a Beosystem, the system (and the connected MCLs) will send the programmed LIGHT number to the programmed time.

It is also possible to program a LIGHT on/off timer, or a timer for a system standby.

Hope this helps

Stefan
