My TV has an optical output, and i would like to wire it to the back of my playmaker/essence to be able to enjoy my beolabs. This is part of my quest for less gadgets to do what i need....
The problem is that the playmaker/essence has RCA inputs, not optical. I could wire it form the headphone jack via mini-jack to the RCAs, but the sound quality will suck.
Is there a magical way to turn the RCA inputs into optical? Any other fine ideas are welcome :)
Thanks,
Dave
Digital to analog converter?
Beware the sound delay Ogre!
Do all models have a noticable sound delay? If so, this isn't a usable solution for video sources, only for audio sources...
With the cheap ones it can be noticable - I used a cambridge DAC and that was fine - or probably so minimal I couldn't notice it!
