Hi All

Just to let you know, Alex in Germany has "outsourced" the refurbishment of MMC's to his long-time assistent  Franz-Josef.

https://www.schallplattennadeln.de/b-o-info-engl.html

I have just had an MMC2 pickup restored by Franz-Josef, and he has done a great job, very quick service, just 9 days including shipment from and to Denmark..

Here is the new website that restores MMC's

And the MMC2 sounds fantastic..

No sign of the pickup ever has been touched, he did a fantastic job.

I highly recommend him if you need a pickup restored.

What did it cost?

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

I decided on the "original spec" restoration

https://www.tonabnehmerservice.de/en/B-O-Restoration/Recovery-MMC-1-5-All-images-used-sample-images/MMC-1-2-With-part-return-Restored-with-sapphire-Cant-and-Nude-line-diamond-needle-example-image.html

179 Euro, but I had 2 defekt MMC4's which I traded in, so my price was around 110 euro including shipping. Had no use for the MMC4's and he will buy defect pickups if they are in good condition.

Off course I cannot guarantee that he will buy all defect pickups :)

Something to add to the debate on pickup restoration that I learned very recently from Axel.

Contrary to popular belief the suspension in the MMC20 series carts cannot be replaced!

Only the MMC1-5 can have new suspensions fitted.
