Yes it is compatible. Only thing is the Beo5 is a nightmare to try and program. I've shoved mine back in its box hopefully never to open it again.

You should be able to use the simple default configuration that comes pre-loaded with the Beo5. You would then just use keys similar to those on the Beo4. However, custom-programming the Beo5 will allow you to arrange the menus of virtual buttons in ways that seem most logical to you.

Programming the Beo5/6 is quite easy -- and actually fun. You simply drag and drop icons in the programming screen to show what your setup has -- such as beosounds, beovisions, beolabs, etc. If the BeoCenter 9000 is not shown as an option, you just select one of the BeoCenters that has the same sources. Then, you can see what the proposed menu screens will look like and edit them to be whatever you want them to be.

I agree with Jeff: The Beo 5 is by far the most flexible universal remote on the market - beneath the fantastic Philips Pronto or the RTI remotes.

You can configure it for REAL easy operation so that nobody in the family has to know what "A.Mem" should mean, he just hits "MP3" (for example) on the Beo 5 and no need to care about anything else. :)

Its pretty to look at!! :)

Problem you need a computer with XP running etc etc.......then you need to find the right version of the software to go with the software on the Beo5. I found a computer with XP and was never able to get it to connect. B&O won't give you the software so its either trawling the internet or trying to get someone to give you a copy.

Maybe I'm not clued up enough on these sort of things to get it to work. I even asked a computer guy to come and help.....no luck. So if anyone wants to help me....I'll be ever so grateful!! :)
