Hello, my Beomaster CD door is not opening unless I force it. This was the drive belt last time. The Stafford company I used to fix it is not dealing with the 3300 any more as it is too old! (Lack of spares). Please can you tell me whether you know someone in the UK who fixes Beomaster 3300s? I love the old machine and am not worried if non genuine parts are used to fix it. I just want it to work!
Thanks a lot.
Would still appreciate advice on this. Any thought anyone please?
Do you mean Beogram CD3300(cd player) praps?
Hello Solderon, yes I do.
Apologies for slow reply. Would you be able to assist at all please?
Under the front edge of the lid,you will see two black blobs. These are to cushion the door when it closes, but they go soft and stick to the door preventing it from opening.Just remove them and see if the door opens normally?
Otherwise, the door belt may have stretched again,or if the door was sticking the gear teeth may have stripped!!!
Regards,
Nick
Thanks a lot for your reply Nick. I've checked the black blobs and they're okay, so I suspect your 'teeth missing' theory. I can ease the door open but when it comes to closing, it clatters down. Feels a bit terminal if it is teeth. Maybe I'll be able to use the unit for another couple of years by manually easing door open and closed. Hate the lack of mechanical sympathy though.. Probably not worth much now either. Argh! Frustrating. Thanks again for your input.
is there a motor noise when you press the lid/eject button?
If there is,it means the lid drive is running and the connecting gear is stripped. If there is no motor noise,it suggests that the sensor for lid eject etc is faulty.
Good machines these, well worth repair.Do you want to send/bring it to me for investigation?
Hello Nick,
No there is no motor noise on opening. On closing there is motor noise once I gently 'persuade' lid to close but also that clattering sound. I imagine I have both issues?
You've made a fantastic offer. Thank-you. The machine has sentimental value to me as it was handed down to me. I'd love to get it investigated and maybe, if I'm very lucky, fixed. I'll PM you to see what you think. Thanks! Regards, M
Perhaps a broken or bent contact in the lid mech.
Martin
Okay, thank-you Dillon. Hopefully not too expensive!!
