Hello

Im fighting the proverbial volume control problem on a Beomaster 2400 - it has the 3 IC 128 step volume control board and all the manuals i can find have the 16 step single IC board.

Has anyone managed to locate a schematic for this 128 step board?

All the usual have been done but Im clearly missing something as the volume defaults to max.

Any and all help appreciated!

Thanks for your help Martin!

Before I set about this is there any start point anyone can recommend me or is it just a case of logically working my way through it? - Just to recap.  Volume on full up light bright down light dim.  Touching the up pin lowers the volume and the brightness of the lite but instantly reverts upon removing finger and down pin does nothing.

Caps changed, bridges changed, slide potentiometers fixed and working, light based volume control box working.

As always thanks in advance.

Could be many reasons;
Wrong lamps
Ripple on supply voltage
One or more bad small signal transistors in the touch/lamp driver circuit.

Yeah - i was hoping it was going to be something easy id overlooked and it was not going to be

Ripple on supply voltage or something in the touch/lamp driver circuit because I have not got a scope.

I have replaced all the lamps - I wonder if they gave me the correct ones?

Were you able to resolve this?  I find I'm having the same issue.
