Hi there,

I wonder if I can connect a Yamaha Yp-700c turntable to a Beolink passive.

The passive is set up from a Beosound 9000 to a Beo 3500 link room to a 3500 link room to a Beolink passive link room. I guess I need a pre amp in the link room with the passive? I have a (five I think) din connecter coming from the turntable done in  the days it was set up to a Beo 9500. When connecting the turntable to the Beo Passive in it's power link socket nothing happens, not when I select AUX on the Beo4 remote.

Any help appreciated.

Maurice

Not possible. Powerlink is OUT not in. No local source with Beolink Passive - add a beolink active to use a local source (aux in). Connect passive to active to run passive speakers.

Best regards

Ralf

Thanks Ralf for your fast reply though not nice to hear that it can't be done. Was afraid of it already.

Kind regards,

Maurice

On the Passive the PL socket is actually an input.  I use one in stand-alone mode with an MCL2AV providing a line-in input from my computer.  I think you should be able to use a passive in the way  you describe, but possibly not when it is also connected to ML.

Have you looked at this?

hmm, interesting. I'll dive into this and have to ask my dealer about this.

Thanks
