I have been offered a Beogram 6000 with MMC 6000 in fully working condition.  Teak finish.  There is a crack on the lid - oddly not at the usual place - about 30mm.  Does not affect function of lid. Otherwise good cosmetic condition.

I do not have need of the item but want to keep the guy sweet as he bought it on my behalf having not quite caught the 3000 / 6000.

Can anyone tell me what would the item be worth for a quick sale to get my cash back?

If it has the quad decoder in it (some have had it removed), it is a valuable machine - the MMC6000 is very unlikely to be in particularly good condition but is rare as well. I suggest about £400 though it could be more or less depending on how bad the crack is. This is a lovely deck and has the huge advantage of being able to be used with modern equipment through a line in input. Clearly not remote control though!! The quad decoder contains a good RIAA and although the quad function is actually not very useful (most records are ruined, the stylus needs to be able to track to 45000Hz and the effects are not great anyway!) the RIAA is!

Thanks Peter

Thank you for that - is there an easy way to tell if it has had the quad decoder removed?  I dont want to have it shipped by courier and its a fair distance to go have a look and not buy it so ill be trying to extract this info over the telephone. A pic of the crack should be attached and some others.
