Hello all,
I've a technical question about the V1...
By chance, I came across a scrap V1-40 with a smashed screen (kids toy thrown at terminal velocity I was told) and was kindly given it for spares. I 'parked' it for future attention and left it at that.
Searching through my racks of spares the other day I stumbled upon a brand new, boxed, LCD panel for a V1-40. Checking my stock records it was from a closed-down dealership where I bought a 'job lot' of stock and spares a couple of years ago..
My joy was unbridled as I need a TV for my Son's bedroom and the V1 would be SO perfect. It was meant to be....
So, we whipped open the TV, cracked open the panel ready to fit..... and.... it's the wrong LCD panel (insert crying emoticon right here!)
My broken V1 is Serial 2313**** which is a Mk1, and the LCD panel is for presumably the Mk2 with Serial Number starting 238***** onwards.
My question is : how much do these panels vary? Is it quite simple - or are they fundamentally different? What I'm trying to ask is "is there any way I can make the Mk2 panel work in my Mk1 TV?"
The chances of me ever getting the opportunity to use the Mk2 panel I have, new and sealed, are so small I feel I need to at least try to use it!!!

The panel I need, apparently, is a Samsung LTA400HV04 for the Mk1, should it be impossible to fit the Mk2 panel I have.
£600 plus VAT from B&O....
Does anyone know if this panel is fitted to a Samsung own-brand TV and can be taken out, then fitted to the V1? I would have though I could get a used Samsung for about £150-200 on eBay?
