Hello good people of the forum.
This is my first post – I have followed the forum for quite some time, but now need your expert opinion.
I am moving to a larger place and I am intrigued by the possibilities of getting a good working multiroom setup including both the latest technology and the classics, such as a Beosound 9000 for CD and a turntable, or perhaps a Beosystem 7000 with Beogram 7000 and Beogram CD 7000.
I will not be buying everything at once, but I need to make sure that my idea is right and correct.
I imagine buying primarily used Beolab 4000 and Beolab 3-units, but with time wireless options may come into play.
I am interesting in getting "the best" of two worlds, so in addition to streaming services (beosound essence and moment), I need to figure out how best to integrate the classics into the setup.
Does anyone here have extended multiroom experience?
I will be buying two Essence systems first, and expect to add a Moment at a later stage. How many speakers can one Essence-unit run?
Can I connect a full Beosystem 7000 (or earlier for example 55000) via datalink to a 1611 converter to the ML/NL converter and control all of the components via the music app?
Or how does it work witht the classics? I have searched extensively, but an answer is nowhere to be found.
Similarly, if I purchase a Beosound 9000 and connect it via ML/NL would it then be possible to add a Beogram turntable and "remotecontrol" it via the app?
Do you have any ideas how to do a good and costeffective integration between the newest and coolest and the wonderful design classics that made the brand?

Firstly, welcome to the forum!
When you integrate Masterlink/datalink sources with the NL/ML converter, you assign various sources.
E.g ML source RADIO from a BS9000 is assigned to RADIO in the NL/ML. This mean that if you press RADIO on your remote the radio source from BS9000 will play. If you have an Essence, you can assign the TuneIN source to RADIO instead if you rather would like that.
So, there are some configuration to do but its quite straight forward. So you can assign PHONO source from your BS9000, so that source is avaiilable over the system. I´m unsure if you can manage the actual Beogram (PAUSE / STOP) but others may have experience there.

I am still wondering if the Essence with its two Powerlink sockets allows for 2 speakers or 2 sets of speakers. Also, you mention the remote: will the Essence run from an ordinary remote without an additional IR-eye?
And again, does anyone know if an entire old Beosystem 7000 with CD and turntable can be operated via one BLC NL/ML?
Alternatively, if I get a Beosound 9000, would there be any point in adding a RIAA-enabled turntable to the AUX of the BLC NL/ML - or is it wiser to connect it drectly to the AUX of the BS9000?
I am new to the technical intricacies, but a life-long admirer!

From your post I get the impression you do not have any existing kit.
What HiFi components do you have ? and what investment in media (CDs, LPs, etc) ?
Because frankly much as the "old world" B&O is beautiful I a not sure it is a good place to start by compromising your future world.
Any and every dollar spent of speakers is a dollar well spent.
The Essence could be wired with Y connectors to support two pairs of daisy chained stereo speakers - but they would be controlled in unison: both pairs on, both pairs off, both pairs loud, both same source, etc. Not exactly true multi-room.

Hello, I have very little B&O equipment at present apart from a set of speakers and some (non.Multiroom) Beoplay products.
I have a collection of CD's that I would like to occasionally play in conjunction with streaming music. Streaming constitutes the larger part of my music consumption. Additionally, I own several LP records that I would like to listen to ocassionally.
I have seven rooms that I would like to fill with music, and I plan to build the system incrementally.
The first step is to get two Beosound Essence with speakers + a BLC NL/ML with a "proper" stereo (either BS9000, BS3000 or indeen a Beosystem 7000.
That should give me 3 rooms of internally integrated music experience that can then be incrementally up-sized by adding a Beoplay V1 in one room and a Beosound Moment in another, come time.
My question remains whether (and how) to add a Beosystem 7000 or a BS9000/3000 + a turntable, and how I add the turntable so that it can be discovered and operated in the multiroom setup through the App.
I have been to the local Copenhagen dealership. They are fairly ambiguous in their description of the possibilities, and once I mentioned adding a used system they just looked perplexed. Mentioning Datalink certainly didn't help. Hence I turn to the true buffs of the forum!

I am not interested in waiting for that particular time, as I want to keep a lookout for a good, used system and buy the right one.

The setup, that you are aiming at, is a fairly complicated setup - if I understand you right.
It is of course, a pity - but it is not the kind of answers, that I am used to getting from a dealer.
The less detailed the questions, the easier it will be to answer the questions.
You can control the basic functions of older ML-product, when they are well integrated via the NL/ML Converter, yes.
There are several Beoworlders with this kind of setup - maybe they will turn up to advice you more directly.

I had a difficult intermezzo with Bang & Olufsen's flagship store in Copenhagen which put me off for a while. Now they have redirected me to a more competent dealer in the area and the project is again under way.
I have simplified the setup to include only a BS9000 and Essence stations, in addition to already multiroom-enabled speakers.
