I received the holiday brochure from my US B&O store today. It mentioned the BeoVision 55" End of Life pricing of $7995. I would assume we should see the new one here soon then! Big Smile

The BV Avant NG 55" will be in the shops very soon - if that is what you mean?

And in the video we recently saw it explained how the NG was just an intermediary model so I guess it won't be around for long

Sorry - I think, that you have misunderstood that.

The NG is the new version - but in between there are/were a few (Avant) tv's with the new hardware and the old software.

Unfortunately we have no access to the mentioned video - so if anyone can correct me, please feel free to do it!

The Avant NG will be similar to the BV14 and the BV Horizon.

I guess these will stay in the portfolio untill the B&O/LG models arrive - some of them probably for longer than that. The first B&O/LG's will probably have the larger screensizes.

Not really like that.

There is a model in between 2014 and NG that is in production right now. It features some different hardware but not the new software. Or the new hardware (although parts of it, as power board). The logic boards are completely different due to the android environment and so on.

Ok - thanks.

But anyway - the one called NG is the tv with the Android platform (like the other new ones).

That's true :). I'm a bit confused about their process actually.

The intermediate model is called the Avant Reloaded. The NG will come later. This is something to check before purchasing.

Just went to my dealer and indeed there is an offer. 15 % off the Avant 55". Only two left. Be fast.

I'm interested in a 55 " (I only have a tiny 46 ") but there's of course no hurry.

So don't know what to do.

My (our) BV 11-46 is far enough for me (us), all the family loves it. As you know, the picture and sound are just WOW, and it's MADE IN STRUER.

Have to sell the BV 11-46 first.

I like the design of the Avant, it would make a change after BV 10 and 11, the folding powerful sound bar and the genius stand.

Would be nice to have a 4K panel even if I have no 4k source yet (appart Iphone camera and my wife camera).

Don't know why but my little brain tells me not to do it and my big heart just go for it !

Hi Beogreg,

I would keep my BV11 46' big time! (I know I have one as well so I miss objectivity here)

In my opinion the design is so timeless that actually, B&O could just continue to update the panel and the system inside and keep this design in their portfolio for ages. For me it's like what the iPhone is to Apple (and actually they should have kept the first design now that it looks like a Samsung)

My B&O dealer even told me that in terms of picture quality, since there is not so many 4K sources yet, the BV11 will "treat" the source and provide a better picture than the Avant and the new BV14 with regards to the panel and the technology they used in the new TVs.

My feeling is that the next big improvement in B&O TV's offer will be the release of OLED TV.

Until then, BV11 46' as you said produce a WOW picture and a WOW sound ;)

And me. I swapped my BV11-55 for an Avant and regretted it! Sold it for a BV12-65 (which is superb).

Anyone else confused here. Avant Reloaded? Avant NG? And all this before an OLED version next year?

Funny thing about this new overnight thread ... is that I woke this morning from a dream about a new form factor BeoVision that was slim, with bevelled edges, and smooth rear unlike the rear of the Horizon I saw last week.

So with the grandkids I made this model of what life would be like once we replace the BV8-40 wth the BV-NG-OLED-85 ....

😅

In the music room on the other side of the wall.

But you're on the money ! I do intend to bring them into play with the BV; and then BL3s will become rears.

And the current BL4 rears will either become ATMOS or used in link rooms.

The "current" variant is the Avant Reinstated. The NG version will ship any day. If you can get a good deal on the current Avant - go for it! IMHO the outgoing Avant is a superior product quality wise - will be interesting to read the reviews on this forum.

I ear you Roger.

I asked my kids (8, 14, 17) and wife at dinner last night "should I trade our current tv for a bigger one ?" = NO (it's big enough).

I usually get that answer for the same question and get by (4 against me I still win !), but I think that one I will pass.

The 15% off is good of course but I want more for a "end of line/life" product !!!

I went back to the shop today. It's not over yet.

Still hesitating about the Avant (even if I know it's an excellent tv) because after three years my BV11-46 is also excellent and beautiful (and I must take out around 5.000 € from my empty pockets !).

I would simply look at it this way:

BV11 46' is a "must have" TV producing fantastic picture and astonishing sound. What else would you need?

Life is short, use the 5000€ for a nice trip with your wife and kids and enjoy life ;)

C'mon BeoGreg, you are spoiling your joy of having an excellent tv.

Just keep calm ------ and keep your BV11.

Buy a new/different fret, if you are keen on a change ;-)

Christmas is up - get a red one ;-))

You are smart and I am weak, but I know you are totally right.

At the moment I'm at 80 % no and 20% yes.

Speaking of tvs I was thinking about maybe replacing my bedroom v1-40 with a bv11 instead? I think maybe it would be nice. I don't really fancy the horizon. To emotionless.
