Hi,
I own a BV7-40 mk6 and I'm very happy and impressed by overall picture quality. I use it via HDMI for DVB-T, internal BlueRay, PS3 and Sky-HD. Landscape pictures, or film scenes in daylight, are stunning and impressive.
What I'm puzzled with is when dark themes comes, and worst when mixed clear colors and dark colors are mixed (e.g. a backlight window with a shady interior, or a shadow casted in plain sunshine. In such situations, the dark area is almost completely black, with no shades. If same scene lasts, it gets better after about 15 seconds, with then a perfect light and gray shades.
Seems alike when you enter a dark room from daylight... you take a bit for the eye to adapt, and you are not going to see anything for a few minutes. I can clearly see when the TV does something similar, with gamma moving to clearer or darker setups based on light balance.
I can replicate this behaviour with some test videos to help TV setup, where on dark settings - to help on brightness levels - I can initially not see any blinking area and after about 10 seconds changing nothing I clearly see them as expected. This behaviour does not change with more or less brightness, as the overall picture is lighter or darker but shades does not appear until some seconds passes.
Test video I used is found at following link, for reference: https://youtu.be/8b3CUm8j4DE
I tried to play with "service" menu settings, and switched OFF either Film Mode as well as Dynamic Backlight, but this has no effects.
Is it intended, or something need to be fine tuned?
Any advice or similar effects?
Thanks!
