Which turntable model would you recommend to pair with the BeoMaster 5000 amplifier?
BG 3000 Thorens is what the BL 5000 crave, but as they are very difficult to come by, until I get one I am using a BG 4002 any of the 400X will do
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Beomaster 5000 "amplifier"... There was no such thing. There was a Beolab 5000 "amplifier", a Beomaster 5000 "tuner" and a Beomaster 5000 "receiver".Which one are we talking about? It's a matter of agreeing on a common naming of stereo items...
For the Beomaster 5000 "receiver" (of the 1980s) I would recommend either the Beogram 5000 radial deck or the Beogram 5005 tangential deck.

Martin and elephants are correct; I owned all of these pieces and had a tangential arm Record player. I purchased the original 5000 receiver in 1980 and added the balance of the units over the next five years. They worked beautifully until 2013, when I donated all but the receiver in a graded it with a Beosound essence as I now use digital formats to play music. I actually regret letting go of the record player. The aesthetic and sound integration was unparalleled. The master control panel operated all of them beautifully and together. To me, it was a stunning example of contemporary industrial design.
