Hi fellows,
I have been thinking about this some time. Using the S8 as rear speaker system. I have the BeoVision 11, so hooking it up should be no big deal. The question is. How is the sound? And will it work as a 5.1 system along with the BV11 center speaker and my Lab 9's as front speakers.
Any input would be much appreciated
Best regards and merry Christmas,
Frederik

Hi Frederik,
I haven't tried this exact combination, but there shouldn't be a problem using the S8 as rear speakers with your Beolab 9 front speakers and Beovision 11. Only one shielded RJ45 cable is needed:-

I will be interested to hear how you get on with this combination of speakers.
Kind regards and Merry Christmas, Steve.

where do you plan to position the S8 sub?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi Steve and Millemissen,
I talked to my dealer (who also will deliver my 11-55 this holliday) and he told me that he has set up S8 as rear speaker system before with great results. I decided to take the plunge as he also offered a good price for the system. He told me that it requires two seperate PowerLink cables from the sub to the TV as the one will be for the sub signal and the other for the satellites.
The sub will be placed in the back corner behind the seating position and the satellites will be wall mounted.
I will report back once it is all set up
Best regards,
@Frederik
I would think twice before using the S8-sub as a seperate sub - since you already have two subs with the BL20's. In that case you should look at the audio settings, how/to where the bas is managed.
Besides the sub and the satelites are carefully tuned to each other as one unit.
To use the S8-sub as an integrated part with the satelites for the back/surrounds would be another way to go - this would require only one cable for the rears.
Hi MM,
I will fiddle with it once I receive the items. I will try with both one and two PL-cables. I am also planning to tune the audio in the BV11 advanced menu. The bass management is especially important. The BeoLab 9's should not loose their low frequency signal.
