The latest update for the named tv's gave us the Netradio function.

As a passionate listener of the american radio station Radio Paradise,

https://www.radioparadise.com/rp_2.php#name=Home

I - of course - immediately made it a favourite on my V1-32 and assigned it to Radio 1 for quick access from the remote.

But I did notice, that it was streamed in a 128 Kbps quality - which was a pity.

Just today I saw, that the stream had been changed....to 320 Kbps ;-)

Who is responsible for that, I don't know - maybe it is just a coincidence?

But anyway here we go - I hope it stays so.

One of the best stations on the web.

However, if I want just audio I use my Olive One with Beovox S45 speakers.

On the BV11 I prefer to access the Radio Paradise website and then view the slide show that is coordinated with the music.

Just checked mine, and yes, the BIT rate has moved up to 320 Kbps.

just went to the website for the slide show, and top left of the screen you can select 128k (default) or either 32k or 192k only - no 320 with slides.

@Graham

I too, do use the RP app on my ATV once in a while - the pictures are gorgeous and always relate to the music playing.

But using the remote to access this station instantly is nice - and I don't always have time to watch the pictures, when listening.

One more benefit of using the netradio function of the tv is, that you can configure the audio settings for listening to sound. The settings of my ATV are optimized for video 'listening'.

Ive never even heard of radio paradise - something to look forward to

Would / have you noticed the difference in the higher quality bit rate?

@Aussie Michael

Not on my V1, since I currently am using that as a standalone tv.

I was just expecting, that B&O/the netradio would pick the highest possible quality.

As for comparing - theoretically I could, if I listened to the linked sound through my Essence....

....but then again I haven't got the lower quality for comparing anymore.

And up till now I mainly used the app on the ATV4, which also is a 320Kbps stream.

My suggestion = try it out, if you like the music mix...which is rather diverse, but also in some way coherent.

MM is your V1 a white one?

When you say stand alone are you not using that for net radio?

Will try it out

With standalone I meant without external speakers - I doubt that I would hear a/the difference between the different streaming qualities there ;-)

Could be easier on my main setup - but listening tests/comparisons are a tricky matter, anyway.

No it is black - but I doubt, that it would make a difference in this case ;-))))

The iPhone RP app also supports losless streaming (FLAC). This may be old news, but I haven’t noticed it before Big Smile

....the web player hasn’t got the lossless option, but it is very informative - should you be interested in details about what is playing.
