Dining room setup:

Beocenter 9000 + Beolab 1 in RED!!!

The Beocenter 9000 is being replaced this week with a BS9000 mk3.

Dad made a custom welded bracket for the beocenter to go on the wall.

The front glass panel has become all loose and won't sit properly any more. B&O will not repair it.

Kiran, nice pictures of your setup. Thanks for sharing. Just a question, though. the BV7 stand is only partially supported by the brickwork in front of the fireplace, although I know the weight of the TV is well safe above the baseplate and brickwork, are you planning on placing something to support the front part of the pedestal base which is currently suspended above the floor? I'd be nervous if you're turning the television and have kids around playing.

Hi

The whole house is being renovated because we have wood worm in the joists. Every room is being stripped and redone and what you see currently will all be redone except the living room which is currently in progress.

That Beovision 7 will be on a Masterlink in the office with a good few speakers; it has the surround module installed.

-----------------------------------------------

Furthermore,

It was my idea to run Cat6A every where around the house for future networking.

I have only recently found out in the last few days that I can run Masterlink and Powerlink through the RJ45 wall sockets which changes everything and adds a whole load more patch cables in the server room. I don't care what anybody says about using Cat7; I have done my research and the cable I am using is perfect.

I plan on using 3 different Masterlinks all linked backed to RJ45 Masterlink Modules in the server room and all speakers in the house back to RJ45 Powerlink Modules in the server room. This is another reason why I cannot use Cat7. The bend radius is messy and the cable is way too thick. I will have around 120 patch cables in the server room in the end. I don't have space.

At the moment, I am trying to figure out if I can add more than 1 NL/ML converter on my home LAN for the 3 different Masterlinks. This is somehow done using VLAN switches and I will be incorporating a Pakedge VLAN router and switches along side the Control4 home automation and Wyrestorm 4K distribution.

It's a big project for Home Automation, LAN, Wifi, Audio & Video Distribution, Masterlink, Powerlink and VOIP.

:)

Sorry,

The Beovision 7 will be on a wall mount in the office.

This room will have an NL Beovision Avant 55 with the same pair of Pentas.

I like the Beolab 3. I like using these as top corner front and rear. These will be future purchases Big Smile

My beautiful, fully restored (by Frede at Classic Audio) Beogram 3000.  Love this deck.  I've just sent him my Beogram 3000 'Acoustical' for a full restoration too, which will then become my 'daily driver' - and the deck you see will be used with my (also fully restored by Frede) Beomaster 5000 system.

It's going into a PhonoBox, then to my Avant 75 which has BeoLab 5 front and BeoLab 17 rear connected.

I cannot tell you how lovely the Avant 75 is!!  What a TV. I'm so pleased with it.

Ok, finally after reading this thread for years, a flash of some of my B&Os. Pair of 6002 and Beolab 11. Currently "controlled" via Playmaker. For sure getting rid of that during this spring... About to get the Moment.

Why do you want to move to the Moment?

Asking because I cannot see the point in that system compared to a Beosound/Sonos Set-up if you are already using i-stuff / tablet in the house....

Good question Ralf, I haven't seen the light in the Moment yet either... Except that very lovely touch sensitive veneer, which I really hope they can find use for in some other products. And the nice mix of warm and cold materials, all well crafted. And the mood wheel, silly or clever? Definitely different.

In my opinion very B&O. Not something to buy because it's sensible but because you enjoy the details and the quirks. Comming to think of it, maybe I should get one...

I use mine all the time as a dedicated iPod overkill.

Feels like a nice slab in the hands. Very well engineered.

I have no speakers connected to it directly now.

It was connected to the Avant since we bought it a month ago and was interfering when others were watching TV so I've linked it to the BS2 with the app.

I now use it strictly to link it with NL speakers through the app.

It's wicked. I love finding new music.

Duels:

How does the sound compare to the H8s Leo?

It is different, that is for sure.

First I didn't like it, simply because it was different and all music did not sound how it was "supposed to".

Listened to Up is Down with Hans Zimmer about five times on repeat to kind of "recalibrate" my ears.

Listened to Max Richter's Recomposed album yesterday, and I must say I am very satisfied.

I would say the H8 are a little more crisp in the upper segments (violins for example). I missed this the first few rounds with Up is Down, but now I am happy with it.

I would maybe say that H7 vs H8 are like Penta's vs 8000's (not taking lows into concoderation). The bass feels a little heavier on the H8's, but there is not missing any in the H7's.

But I am considering going back to H6 mk1 or mk2, Bluetooth is convenient, but not ideal.

I use mood the wheel all the time and 99% get it right with what I want to listen to.

Inner circle - NAS music

Middle circle - current hot music

Outer circle - world music

Top half - happy music

Bottom half - sad music

Right half - fast pace

Left half - slow pace

Does the above make sense?
