Greetings from Portugal to everyone in the forum!

I'm a newcomer to the forum, so please excuse if the thread is posted in the wrong section.

I've recently acquired a 1203 as a Christmas gift to my wife. It wasn't in working order because the metal rod that goes from the lift button was bent and the button didn't activated the motor. By creating some extra tension in the metal rod I've managed to getting to work as it's supposed to.

My main concern now is the tonearm position in resting mode.. In my deck the tonearm is slightly angled toward the spindle and not parallel to the right and side of the plinth. Is this the correct position of the tonearm when the deck is off? Or should it be like the blue line I've added to the photo?

As this is my first Beogram, and also my first B&O product, I have no clue if this is the original position for the tonearm. But being myself a designer, I would never design the tonearm without being parallel to the right hand side of the turntable.

If i try to push the tonearm to a more parallel position, it springs back to the angled position.

Can somebody give me directions to set it correctly, in the case this is the wrong position?

Thank you all in advance!

Regards,

Mário

Hello community,

I've just noticed that the photo I posted, wasn't clearly showing my what I talked about in the opening post. I've edited the photo, and maybe now with a full view of my problem I'll find some suggestions to my problem.

Thanks in advance,

Mário
