Hi, I have issues in connecting my Beolink 1000 to the Beocenter 9500. Can you advise?

My set-up is as follows: Beocenter 9500 + Beogram 6002 + Beovox S45-2 + Beolink 1000.

I have purchased the Beolink 1000 over the weekend. When I push the Phono button on the Beolink, the Beocenter turns on and the Beogram starts playing. Unfortunately, none of the other buttons on the Beolink seem to function with the Beocenter (no radio, no CD, no volume, no sound adjustments, etc.)

Is there perhaps some instruction or code that I should give to the system in order to properly connect the Beolink to the Beocenter?

Based on forum threads I did try "Sound, 1, Store" but the Beocenter did not give any signal.

Thanks, Jan-Willem

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

Sounds to me like a faulty Beolink.  If you view the transmitter end with a mobile phone camera, does it light up when you press buttons other than phono?

Hi, thanks for welcoming me!

You are spot-on ... phono lights up, as well as few of the other buttons. Most buttons however don't light up.

Seems that I have purchased a faulty Beolink, hmmm, not good.

Thanks for your quick response, Jan-Willem

No problem - glad to help!

Ideally return the BL1000 to the seller, but if you can't, and are technically minded, it could be worth taking it to bits and cleaning the contact pads carefully.  To be honest, I doubt it will solve the problem, and there are plenty of working BL1000s out there quite cheap.  Alternatively, get a Beo4 - that works fine too, and I use one with my BC9500.

OK. Option one will probably not work. So I will try to clean the contact pads or search for another BL 1000 (or Beo4, as you suggested) alternatively.
