Can anyone tell me which lights should come on when each of my components are playing?
Should the MCP be lit or do the lights fade out?
The lights go out when the instruction has been given, to save the batteries.

As the previous poster stated, the lights do go out after a few seconds. I recently made a video showing my Beomaster and Master Control Panel 5500 in action. The MCP is very similar to your 6500.
