Geoff Martin:

Geeze... now I feel bad about driving my old Honda Civic to work every day...

.... which in Denmark is probably worth as much as a Rolls Royce in the UK !!!  The car tax in DK is eye watering... Surprise

Lee

PS : Just for the record, everyone is saying "so glad this trip is on.."  :  Can I just state that it's not confirmed yet!!  Referring to my post 3 days ago - "There's a possibility (and I stress, POSSIBILITY) that something may happen in the Spring of 2018" I will state again, this is down to B&O and not us. Initial sounds are positive, but things can change!

Lee, we know that it's a possibility... we are just generating so much positive feedback that B&O has no other choice than letting us, their customers and fans visit them. Smile

@egges: That beautiful place ist the Rheinfall near Schaffhausen.

But the velomobile is constructed in Netherlands, assembled in Ganløse near Kopenhagen with components from Netherlands, Romania, Germany etc.

As a Dane I can't help but being extremely fascinated by that bike.

And the idea of driving through the shifting landscapes of Europe while in touch with the elements and the changes of the season has taken me on a mental journey to far-off places.

Hi

Wondering: Have anyone been in contact with B&O regarding a factory trip yet?

Joined one last August - but only allowed to visit Factory 5 where the aluminium parts are manufactored - arranged by Struer Museum.

And a briefing regarding the history of Pentalab 90 and a short time listening to them - indeed very nice - and a trip into the showroom, nice here too.

What's more to see in Struer? I don't know, as the production mostly take place in The Czech Republic nowadays

Additional we were allowed to visit the museum itself and finished with coffee and cake - what a delicious whisky cake they made for us.

Aint the B&O factory and Struer Museum enough?

Then I'm quite sure you all will be more than welcome to see Lauge's Collection - afaik the most completed in the World.

Yes - big Words but I never heard of anyone have more presented.

He build 400sqm and put in all (I guess) from the beginning into the 2000'es. More than 800 pcs. to be seen and at least other 400 pcs. on stock.

Lately I supply a BOPA PRV3 to him.  Don't know why he was without this model.

And I will be happy to convince him he had to open the doors for you. (he is a humble guy, but likes to have quest anyway)
Sure I don't have to push him hard at all :-)

And sure Frede could handle a couple of visitors and show his cosy listening room for the Beolab 5000 system.

And if anyone have the interest I maybe coulld arrange a visit to see how Wind turbines are made by Siemens Wind Power in Brande.
All of you who don't have seen such close-up will be surprised by the size.

There is no assembling/production - apart from the aluminium production in Fabrik 5 - in Struer these days.

That said - the processing of the aluminium parts is very interesting, especially if you have never seen that before.

As for 'contact with B&O regarding a factory trip' - as you can read in this thread Lee is in contact and I'd expect, that he will do everything possible to make it happen in 2018.

Or do you mean 'factory trip' in general?

There are some arranged from the Struer Tourist Information at summertime, I think:

http://bogo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23/~/is-it-possible-to-visit-bang-%26-olufsen-in-struer,-denmark%3F

And then there are the visits during the Annual Shareholders Meeting each year in September.

As for your other suggestions, a lot of the Beoworlders will appreciate this, for sure.

But if you want to explore B&O today and in the future, you will have to go to the source.

I expect that this is what will happen 2018, when/if the Beoworld organized tour will take place.

It amazes me that nobody mentiones Quistrup. That should be the start.

One thing that I found a bit disappointing in the museum was that all the interesting stories weren't translated in english.

Only in danish.

Luckely I had a fellow beofriend with me (lives in Denmark), who translated these for me. It adds so more instead of only looking at the "sculptures"

I was unaware of the existence of this series, but I have spent all day watching it. Thanks, Leif.

Does anybody know of other B&O-related documentaries?

BTW. Thank you Leif.

Isn't there someone who can initiate the (DVD/BluRay) production or release in any digital form of these videos?

If one of the danish members this could translate (on paper?) into the english language? I'm willing to add the subtitles into the videos.

But the first question has to be asked to TV-Midtvest.

Maybe a contact to Ronny Kaas at B&O could clarify if it's possible. He is historic PR director.
