Hello all Apple gurus,

I'm experiencing a connection problem with Playmaker. Somehow it does not connect to my TimeCapsule based wifi-network. Connection to another wifi router works quite fine and at least the configuration went as supposed. I´ve tried it several times and the result is always blinking orange.

I´ve tried both easy setup and advanced configuration with the Playmaker setup app, without any success.

What should I do next? I´ve never experienced any connectivity problems with the TimeCapsule.

Have you tried turning off the security/encryption, just to test?

Hi,

this might be encryption related.

This may have changed in recent years but back when I was running both windows and macs Apple devices could connect with a simple password, however non apple sometimes need the full key to connect. Back then, you could get that form the admin software of the time capsule if I am not mistaken.

Cheers

JK

Thank you fellows,

Tried the encryption with no success. The answer was deeper in the Time Capsule settings (probably affects all other same generation Apple base stations as well). I needed to deselect 802.11n 2.4 GHz only and select 802 b/g compatibility instead. Why? No idea but now it works!

I'm not using the TC as a media server, only as a WiFi base station.

Blame it on PlayMaker: it doesn't work with 802n! Stick out tongue
