Beoremote 5 to Beoremote 1

We have an old Beoremote 5 - it was repaired twice under warranty as it failed to charge or failed to hold charge. It has been fine for a few years but is now misbehaving. This is the least favourite remote of mine. Can the programming of my old Beoremote 5 be transferred into a new Beoremote 1?

Or do you recommend an old Beoremote 4?
