RX2 Turntable dustcover questions

I just bought this deck.Its in great condition and works perfectly.Last owner for some reason he cant even remember dismantled the dustcover hinge and forgot how it went together! I have searched the forum and found several posts about the cover but none described my problem.From looking at pics in these posts all the parts are present.I spent hours trying to figure out how it all fits.From what I can tell the spring only fits one way,its the 2 brackets that I guess are meant to hold the spring I'm struggling with.I also noticed that even without the spring and placing the hinge on the backplate the cover has a tendency to jam in the 2/3rds closed position as if its binding?If anyone has been through this I would be very grateful for instructions.

Hoping posting a few pics may help someone explain whats wrong.I looked at the exploded diagram in the service manual which shows all the parts but not really in the correct positions.Tried reassembling it again but it must still be wrong as the spring works the wrong way round i.e it prevents closing of the cover.Have added pics of the areas someone may be able to indicate I've got wrong.
