New Member with some Questions!!

Hello all!  I am new to the site and very happy to be here.   I have a few questions regarding some set up changes I would like to make.  My hopes are that some others here may have the same aspirations as I do... 

Sooo..  If I have a Beosound 3200 with a pair of Beolab 6000s, what would be the best and or easiest way to integrate them with an S8 system and my non B&O TV? 

This may be too complex, but I figured it would be nice to have the S8 speakers up front by the TV and the 6000s in the back.  Does not have to be proper surround sound, but I just thought it would sound nice in the room.

I maybe crazy to propose this, but I would love to hear your thoughts, positive or constructive!

Rather depends on he outputs from your TV. The S8 is designed so you can attach it to almost any TV - you have either RCA or jack plug which should come from the front speaker output. The Beolab 6000s also have a RCA line in socket and it you have a rear output then this can feed them. Hopefully you have an ability to balance the volumes on the TV. What TV is it?

Thanks for the help.  I have 2 TV options.  One is a Westinghouse bought less than a year ago and another is an Insignia bought about 2 years ago.  I will have to check when I get home to see specific models and available connections on them.

I was thinking the best option may be to get a receiver unit that has multiple HDMI inputs so I can connect a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, ect. and then feed the 6000s with the preamp out, but I am not familiar with how the S8 would tie into the system.  Does that make sense?  I will admit, I am not an electronics guy...  I work much better on engines.  

 

 

Sounds like a good idea - as long as you have variable pre-amp out, you will have no real problem.

Maybe daisy chain the BL6000 from one powerlink, use the other powerlink with an RJ45 to powerlink cable to the S8s

And the tv to aux in on the bs3200 via whatever the tv has for audio out.

I'm not a surround guy at all, the S8s will fill the room more than adequately if positioned appropriately without the bl6000s.

Basically, you have three options if you want to link the B&O system and speakers to a non-B&O TV:-

 

1) Connect the Beosound 3200 and speakers to the headphone or analogue audio out socket of the TV for stereo sound, or

2) Add an S8 Connection Hub (£149 GBP in the UK) between the TV and Beosound for the same result if the TV only has an optical output.

3) Add an external AV receiver with pre-out sockets (expect to pay from around £500 GBP in the UK) to allow the TV, Beosound and all of the speakers to be connected for full surround sound with control from the receiver remote control.

If you can please let me know your preferred option and the sockets fitted to your TV, I will be pleased to advise on the cabling required.
