Bang and Olufsen does not know about the marketing art of anticipation. We know there is going to be a B&O 4k tv manufactured by LG only because of a press release in 2016. Everything else we know is rumor and speculation. I want to buy a new Beovision and a pair of background speakers. However I will only buy the LG version. There has been no announcement of anything. Are they worried about trade secrets? Are they afraid someone might copy it?
Apple has announced the Apple HomePod which will be release around December 1st. There is already eager anticipation for the HomePod with lots of media attention and blogs. I plan on buying 2 Apple HomePods which will be part of my home automation system.
Apple generally do not pre-announce products this far in advance – it only happens with products that represent entirely new categories, which the HomePod does. There is no product in the company's lineup whose sales could be hurt by the HomePod announcement. Tim Cook himself has stated that even just the part leaks in the months leading to the announcement of a new iPhone model puts a dent in the sales figures, so they certainly want to announce updates to existing products as close as possible to the moment they can make them available.
In this sense, I think the LG BeoVision is a lot closer to the iPhone than the HomePod – it's an update (or overhaul) to an existing product the company already sell, and they want to keep the sales of that product as healthy as possible, for as long as possible.

Perhaps they're trying to avoid a repeat of the "Our new 4K TVs will have Netflix as a 4K source!...Oh wait, no they won't."

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

And tph explained some of the reasons why - which I agree on.
In case of a coming tv, it probably is wise to stay tight-lipped.
However, one should not forget that B&O also can do the opposite.
They have recently announced and shown a new AudioSystem (BeoSound Shapes) - - almost half a year before it will be launched for sale.
So, it depends on what and on the circumstances, whether something 'new' is revealed before the actual launch or not.
linder simply has got to be as patient regarding a/the new B&O-LG tv as any other Beoworlder ;-)
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
.
Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.
Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.
Sandyb:The issue is one of costs.....Samsung and Apple spend a phenomenal amount on marketing, B&O can get nowhere near that kind of spending.....not saying they shouldn't be smart or smarter, but the aggressive blanket approach is out of reach for them I would suggest
BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass
BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black
V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white
BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver
Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway
I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

MM, You caught me on this one. I am not very patient because I have purchased a new condo and have to make several technology decisions soon. Most likely I will like the design and will probably get the 55 inch model. However I need to know if it is like the Avant because I want to connect a Beocenter 2 with a turntable using a NL/ML converter. Will the new TV be WISA compatible? I am actually not a person who watches TV too often but I am looking forward to upcoming 4K movies. I need to know about Apple compatibility beyond Airplay 2.
Ironically I never really looked at LG products until this B&O/LG announcement. I have ordered an LG washer/dryer combination which is impressive and is WIFI controlled. Whoever thought one could check on their washing machine while at work. Super geek!

Fansastic:I'm convinced when sales prices of the BL18 decrease by 50%, turnover could increase 400%. Resulting not only in a net turnover gain of 100% but a customer gain of 400%, that can be seduced to buy additional B&O gear.

Honestly I never questioned things like 'NL-capacity' and 'support for WiSA'.
Would be very, very strange if these weren't there by the new tv's.
Why on earth shouldn't they?
As for your question of 'support for AirPlay 2' - that is a good question.
But I am sure, that B&O will feature that, if possible (due to regulations of Apple) - that would be great.
Untill now B&O have stuffed the NL-devices with support for anything, that goes - AirPlay distribution on the NL and chromecasting etc.
They want to make their devices as versatile as possible - to suit Apple users, Android users and those who just take the easy route of bluetoothing.
Duels:On that maths they would lose money on all the BL18s they sold unless their margin is over 50% which it isn't
I think it is... but that doesn't account for the dealer margin, which puts a fly in the ointment.
The marketplace demands more for it's money. Maybe the dealers will get squeezed out of the whole equation in the end?
