I have beolab 4000 speakers connected to a Denon AVR-X3300 AV Reveiver via the pre out connections with RCA to RCA cables (Line in)
However during viewing of a surround movie, during quiet moments the speakers go into standby mode then power up again when the action return.
What can I do about this problem?
Hi britops,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. This issue does affect some users who use Beolab speakers with an AV receiver, normally if you listen at quite low volumes. There are a few ways to resolve this, either by changing the receiver settings or (as a last resort) via alternative cabling arrangements.
Initially, I would suggest increasing the speaker levels for the rear speakers in the receiver menu, as this is the most common way to prevent the speakers turning off. Next, using a different surround sound mode (or even the "All channel stereo" mode) can help during news broadcasts or other programmes where no sound is sent to the rear channels.
If these changes don't resolve the issue to your satisfaction, then using a powered trigger cable to force the rear speakers to remain on is an alternative solution. Please let me know how you get on and I will be pleased to assist further.
Steve.
