Beogram 2400 turntable with a lifter mechanism that is stuck so the tonearm does not lift.  I found information on the problem and have tried oiling the lifter with not luck.  So far tried a light machine oil, D5 Deoxit and WD40 over the last few days, as well as using pliers to try and work it, but no luck at all.  Just to confirm, the brass pin in the picture should move up and down?  Wondering if a bit of direct heat may help.  Appreciate any ideas or tricks.

Yes, it should be able to go up and down.
Apprx 1-2mm

Depending on what it has been lubricated with previously a little heat may or may not help but
shouldn't damage anything.

I am actually in the process of doing this with a beocenter 4600 which I acquired a few weeks ago, I cannot get it to lift, tried various methods but it won't budge so I have given up

i did have succes with a Beogram 1902 a few years ago, followed all the advice and it worked great but not this time

i think sometimes it isn't possible to cure so i feel for you, such a shame

Thanks, greatly appreciate the feedback I will try a bit of heat and post back on the results.  bidstonhall, it would be a shame as it has a nice condition MMC4000 cartridge and sounds fantastic.

No luck unfortunately.  Tried a degreaser, more lubricants, heat applied to the part the pin sits in hoping to expand it a bit, but no go.   Unless there is something more to try I think I will need to take the table apart to remove the assembly.

Unfortunate as it sounds so good, but this table is not exactly manual operation friendly.

Just to make sure...
It's not the whole brass structure that needs to move up and down.
It's the thin part (with the tiny hole for the wire spring) that moves inside the thicker part.

Dillen - Yes my efforts have been on the pin with the wire hole, thanks for checking!

bidstonhall - I will take some pictures if I proceed, and I will need them if I hope to get it back together correctly!

I have not had any luck finding sites or threads with a similar B&O turntable being worked on.  If anyone has a link, it would be appreciated.

I decided in the end to pass it on to someone more experienced and knowledgable and traded it with a couple of other pieces of equipment.  To get to the pin got into taking the arm off  and I would not want to mess up this great turntable. Better to let it get properly serviced and live on.

Many thanks for the resources and people on this forum.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to atvds1210 and this forum in general for the help and especially, taking the time to upload a photo to this thread! Descriptions of a "Brass pin in a tube" are a bit of a struggle to fathom when you have a Beocenter in bits in your lap for the first time. Thanks to you, I've managed to save a Beocenter 4600 that will go on to a longer and happier life. And oh, I managed to free the sieced pin by gripping the end with mole grips and giving it a wiggle before lubrication.
