Hello, I know this has probably been beat to death but here goes. My MCP 5500 is exceptionally clean & functional excepting the volume control, which does not work. The ring turns (but has a break) but nothing happens - no lights on MCP or Beomaster 5500. I read in a couple of threads that this indicates a problem with the micro switch. Some suggest a good cleaning & perhaps a little TLC on the contacts & some sewing machine oil will do the trick. The switch looks fine to me but the three pronged springy piece looks to have a problem. The three tips seem to have a tiny piece of felt adhered to them. The tip @ the switch location has lost its felt - saw it was loose & saw it fall off. Should I install new felt tips? Can anyone here detail the extend of disassembly required to completely clean / lubricate / service this switch assembly in order to put it right? I cannot find a service manual here to download. I would add some pictures if I knew how. I have a few other items of concern on various 5500 components but first I need to be able to turn the volume down.:) Thank You all in advance for your help & expertise.
