Hello beofriends

I am moving house soon and this made me think of packaging for my lovely B&O.

I have bv7-55 and have the service legs

Beolab 9

Beolab 6000

Beolab Penta

Moment

V1

Now the smaller bits like V1 and moment I think will be fine

Does anyone have any thoughts on moving the Penta, 6000's and 9's????

I don't have the packaging

The main BV (7-55) I have the service legs.

A removal company will be moving everything but I want to prep as best I can to avoid any damage.

Any thoughts ?

Is it not worth buying the official packaging from B&O for some of the more valuable items?  I understand that they still sell it.  Mind you, if I remember rightly you live in MK and the dealership has closed.

I move house (and usually country!) about every 2-3 years with work - hence have always kept boxes for everything I buy, however small.  The main B&O things that I struggle with are the stands for my BV6s and BL4000, and also my Grundig Audioramas - all of these were obtained second hand without packaging.  I usually simply brief the packers when they arrive of the items that need careful packing, and leave them too it. A cash tip after collection with a promise of the same on successful delivery usually helps; removals men (and women) aren't well paid and I wouldn't do their job for any money!  It was over 40 degrees when they carried my belongings up to my first floor apartment last August!

Are you still testing the upper limits of speakers ?Devil

Good luck with move as its a lot of hassle !

Hello

Big SmileBig SmileBig SmileBig Smile

I have not played music loudly for a long time but I think that's a combination of next door having a baby and not having so many drinking sessions as the years go by.

I am unsure my lovely Penta's will fit

I'm my new kitchen without being overpowering so maybe the shape will be in my future we will see.

I think the Penta's may find a new home in the dining room :)

You forget how and why you got certain equipment but usually you had a niche for it in your last house. Its not always possible to use all of it in another house. My BM6000 is still in a box unused for the last 3 years Sad

Im laughing at the idea a baby influenced you that much , it was probably you that kept the neighbours awake with time to kill .... Whistle

Having a retired lady living next door that has incredibly good hearing made me stop playing loud music after I upset her and felt bad - worst thing was that I thought the house a good buy because I thought she would be hard of hearing! My speakers are now in the room furthest away from the adjoining wall and no surround sound in the sitting room. Oh well - sign of the times.

Morning

Actually like the post one above this actually some outside influences do affect your judgement.

My next door had a baby and never said a word but living in an end of terrace your thoughtfulness becomes more apparent.

I would me upset if my next door played really loud music at the weekends if my niece or nephew were living with us.

Its more about conscious rather than complaint.

Hence the moving house, think I will sort some boxes maybe not original but at least something that can protect them.
