When the Olive One seemed to in trouble (lack of updates) a lot of owners were online begging the manufacturer to open source the operations system so that Roon could be used going forward. But apart from development issues, wouldn't this tie everyone into yet another subscription layer, e.g. Roon + Tidal?

The Moment works just fine with Deezer and TuneIn. The issues have been with how it keeps continually harvesting our DLNA collection and trying to replace cover art of our local music collection.
TIDAL is the best High Fidelity Music Streaming service (lossless) there is..... much better then Deezer!
With the upcoming Deezer Hifi upgrade, which allows streaming in Flac quality, I believe the bigger library of Deezer, cheaper price, and supposedly better sound compared to Tidal, would prove that Deezer is the better choice in the end.
But it has been a long time coming.
Beolab 5 Final Edition, Beosound Moment
I hope so, then it would be great to use Deezer Hifi on the Moment.... looking forward.

Hiort,
Any idea when Deezer HiFi support might be arriving - this year? I have Tidal/Roon elsewhere and it's great but I'd love Deezer HiFi on my Moment even more, now that it's working as originally intended. I am sure of it
Deezer hifi will be made available through the B&O app (ver.1.1.5) as well, so you can stream lossless to your Essence, BeoSound 2 as well.
Off topic, but a nice touch with ver 1.1.5 of the Bang & Olufsen App is that it will support older products as well, more specifically Beoplay A8, Playmaker, Beoplay A9 1.gen and BeoLit 12.
So you do not need the Moment to get lossless Deezer playback.

Hi Roger
Just to clearify. Deezer Hifi will be in 1.1.6 which is also aimed for September.
The support for A8, Playmaker, BeoPlay A9 MKI and BeoLit 12 is setup only. Those products cannot do more than they could before, that would require a software update of the products themselves and no further development is being done on those platforms.
Best regards
Thomas Andersen, Bang & Olufsen
Thanks, Thomas - I do believe that access to better sound resolution is a key trigger for products such as the BeoLab 50, where customers may not go to the same extremes as BeoLab 90 owners when it comes to high quality sources (eg Linn turntable at £18k).
Regarding the update to allow for Deezer hifi - the following products will support playback:
BeoSound Moment, BeoSound 1, BeoSound 2, BeoSound 35, BeoSound Essence 2. gen., BeoSound Core, Beoplay M5, Beoplay A6, Beoplay A9 2. gen. and BeoVision Eclipse.
The subscription is €19.99/month, so it is nice that you can benefit from flac in other products and not just the Moment.
I do not know what threat to use. Roon labs support by B&O would be really great in my eyes.A) On one hand I do not know, if it makes sense for B&O. Due to the possibility that license fees have to be paid to Roon Labs and how complicated (= development costs) it is to integrate RAAT (= Streaming protocol of Roon) besides Airplay and Chromecast into the B&O devices.B) On the other hand brands like Bowers&Wilkins or BlueSound are offering Roon additionally to Airplay.Would be interesting how B&O thinks about it ?!?
