I have just bought a set of BL 4000 in almost mint condition for a very fair price.

I heard them by the seller -and when I came home and plugged them in they were okay.

But then suddently - after a week one of them has started to behave a bit strange...

When I turn on the system (Beosound 2300) one of the speakers is 'dead'...
Well - It is not quite dead, as the speaker turns on (the LED goes green) -but there's just no sound...
After a few minutes it starts playing...and afterwards it can play for hours without any problems.
But the next time I turn the system on, the same thing happens.

I have tried to switch the cables (powerlink) between the speakers - I have tried both sockets on the speakers and both sockets on the Beosound, to rule out bad connections - but it's only on the one speaker.

Anybody got some ideas what could be wrong..?

Hi there, sounds like internal amp went, it also could be power link (internal) or and fuse - I'm not familiar with these but referring to spec :)

good luck

Thank You for the response.

But, as I wrote: It starts playing after a few minutes -so it can not be a fuse or a 'dead' amp.
-And I have tried switching the Powerlink cables...

Hi, you're right I must start reading those things before replying to it Wink, Missed the part that it starts after while - still in my opinion  it's internal BL 4000 amp what give you trouble. I suppose you haven't bought it with warranty and can imagine how annoying that must be Sad, perhaps talk to the seller?

It isn't something what will go away and will need attention.
