I have been using a pair of Beolab 9 with an Anthem MRX 310 connected through pre out for a few years now

Fortunately the Anthem is exceptionally transparent and really shows how good the Beolab 9 speaker really is at conveying all types of music way beyond its size

I have been using many high end systems over the years going back to the 70s including Linn

Nakamichi Focal and if your looking for the ultimate ubiquitous speaker that in my view gets as close to a live performance Beolab 9 is pretty close to live even in a smaller than average room

Back in the 80s I used to do a bit of hi-fi reviewing so have heard most high end systems  which are usually one trick ponies that sound great on what I call tuned for a type and music taste

Most recently I managed to get to try a small Bluetooth DAC adapter that just connects to the analog in turning my Beolab 9 into Bluetooth with a Burr Brown DAC inbuilt have been stunned how good this is in streaming Spotify to the Lab 9

Incredibly musical and satisfying for under £100 full APTX and in sound quality very valve like

Just my thoughts would be interested in others views of Beolab 9

I have the 9s, hooked to my BS9000 and via it to my Beogram and Playmaker for streaming. An amazing speaker, clear, open, wonderful imaging over a wide seating area, midrange is astonishing on them, and they aren't the over-exaggerated upper mids/lower treble that's become so common in "audiophile" speakers which leads to listener fatigue. No lack of detail, human and especially female vocals are astonishing, but the kind of smoothness you can listen to for hour after hour without fatigue. The amount of sound that they produce out of what is really a tiny speaker, in volume about what most larger "bookshelf" speakers have, is impressive. Love mine completely. I think, while I love the BL5, it offers mainly deeper bass, I can find no objections at all to the mids and highs of the 9s.

Glad to hear you enjoy yours!

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
