Hi all finally got it home and working (most of it that is - Tape deck will need attention)
I'm looking for control glass for it (have 1 badly and 1 slightly chipped corner) as it would have to be properly fitted - I be popping the bonnet up very soon - just need to take of my desk others not done)
All help and pointers highly appreciated

First and foremost - before opening the hood remove the 2 glass panels (one screw left side, slide to the (right?) side)!!!

there was a hint in the old forum - I think it was by "die Bogener" - that mentioned Loctite 480 as a black speed glue for the panels, not even needing to strip the old remains.
Not sure bout the stripping - but the panels I've glued on my 9500 that were stripped are sitting absolutely tight. The two-sided tape I tried before wasn't holding tight. The rubber pins that attach to the contact fields on the panel pressed the panel off the frame so e.g. standby needed an extra tough press to react.
Only problem is that the glue is deadly expensive - it was some 33 EURs; but If you are expanding your collection that might spread over several other units in the need of some glue
I also have another 8500 to work on where the panels still have the old "exausted" tape attached. I will let you know if it does the trick without chipping...

33 EUR is lots but yes I'm infected with beobug hence can use on several others (such my BG CD4500 panel) and think it might do work on speakers

Yes it worked. Remove obviously loose parts; no need to clean the rest.
It sticks like glue
Don't use too much of that glue; it still tends to "whiten out" a little bit but much less than the usual instant glues.
And avoid to glue in the edges - just where the tape used to be...

P.S. Tape most likely will be a belt issue - try Martin
Yeah - will do (bless poor o Martin), but now have to move on other pressing issues first (BC2200, BC4000 - got parts from Martin and BeoVox 3702 - Martin find woofer for me) and ship BM 3000-2 with pair of S45's I've sold just recently.

I was thinking about that Gunther,
only problem I can see with it is that it may be bit difficult to work on it at later stage, shall the panel need removing - but to be perfectly honest I've to date just browsed through service manual and printed out appropriate pages, but have to many other things to do before I be able get to it not to mention that I need glass to stick first
