Hello, I am new to this forum and I recently got a beogram 5000 repaired, it was the final component of my 5000 system I needed and I bought a NOS mmc 4 cartridge for the unit and it is not performing to what it seems should be the expectations. I am new to these systems and I know they are excellent but I keep getting some pretty funky things happening with the beogram. For starters, the needle sounds like its dragging on the record when it reads a record. The record often skips when playing as well which happens on perfectly new unscratched records so it is very annoying. The final issue is that sometimes when its playing a record, the sound varies and fades out as if the connection is going in and out. I had the unit serviced through a bang and olufsen store and it cost quite a lot of money. I know I should just bring it back to the store but its a pain to remove the turntable and disconnect the unit and it seems like these problems are more adjustments then functionality problems.
