Anyone tried streaming a movie with apple tv, where the Essence has been chosen as audio source? Is this working reliably?

I'm asking because i want a wireless setup. Thanks.

When I first received my ATV4, I initially 'Airplayed' the audio to my Playmaker because I was using it with a BV6-26.  This worked very well, with no audio delay, hence I assume Essence would be just as good.

(I have since bought a hmdi audio extractor so that I can send the audio to the BV6's PC-audio input.)

I tried something similar once, it does work BUT...

On the AppleTV selecting a speaker for Airplay (audio), the settings do not save. Once either box goes to standby or sleep, you have to once again select AirPlay speaker (Essence in your case). Annoying.

Honestly I would think you're better off getting a Beosound Core and connecting optical out off the TV. You get Airplay off the Core, plus have a optical DAC built-in to the Core, something the Essence lacks.
