Hi all,
New here, and to B&O ownership (lifelong dream to have B&O stuff).....
So, I have recently bought a pair of Beolab 8000’s. I love the overall sound but wanted a bit more bass presence so have just bought a B&W PV1 subwoofer.
To make things simple (but maybe perversely complicated in terms of connections) I am currently just using Chromecast Audio as my streaming source. I use my iPhone apps for Spotify and BBC iPlayer radio.
So, I have connected by my best efforts but have ended up with mono sound through the 8000’s!
Would really appreciate some advice.....
Chromecast has one output which is 3.5mm. The cable is split into two rca male connectors.
Before I got the sub, I was connecting these direct to the line input on the 8000’s and getting stereo sound.
So, now, with the sub, I have these 2 RCA connections going into a connector that takes the 2 into 1. This is then fed into the sub line in. (There is only 1 line in input on the sub).
The sub also has only 1 link out. So, I am using the same type of connector that then allows me to connect to the separate rca cables that connect to the 8000’s line in.
Everything seemed to be fine until I realised that both speakers are playing the same, rather than the 2 channels of stereo.
I really hope I am just being clumsy and naive in the set up?
I can’t work out if it is the connection in to the sub, or the one out of the sub, that is taking things down to mono?
Many thanks
Al
